Manly Memorial's 170th Anniversary

2011 marks the 170th Anniversary of the founding of the church
that became known as Manly Memorial in Lexington, Virginia.

On May 9, 1841, following the leading of the Holy Spirit,
12 women and 4 men organized our church.

Since that time, 170 years ago, God has used numerous faithful men and women
to minister in his name to countless people
not only in the Lexington/Rockbridge County area, but throughout the world.

In the coming months we will post items, some serious and others humorous,
that will remind us not only of  the people and events in our past,
but most importantly, of what a great God we serve.

Instead of a historical picture this week we wish to dedicate this page

In Memory of Joseph Edward "Eddie" Paxton

September 14, 1944 - Oct 15, 2011

Our sincere sympathy goes out to all of the Paxton family.

Eddie will be greatly missed by all of us.

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away,
yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God,
an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands."
-2 Corinthians 4-16 - 5: 1-1
